COVID-19 Guidelines for the 2021-22 Season

The Upward Sports at Jerome Church Leadership Team is working to reduce risk by limiting team sizes and league capacity, as well as adjusting practice and game start times to reduce the number of players and families entering and exiting at the same time. However, we recognize that there will still be a high volume of people interacting in spaces at the same time throughout the season. We are asking for your cooperation with the following guidelines to ensure that we have as safe and complete a season as possible.

These guidelines are fluid and subject to change as continued guidance from the local, state health departments and the CDC are released.

Guidelines for Evaluations & Practices
Entering & Exiting
Due to the high volume of players, coaches, families and volunteers entering and exiting the building at the same time, we are requesting that all individuals age 2+ wear a facial covering (mask) that covers their mouth and nose when entering and exiting the building. Please enter and exit through the main lobby door only for practices and evaluations.

Players & Coaches
Coaches and players will be permitted to remove their mask once they arrive at their practice location and begin practice; they should wear a mask if leaving the practice area for any reason and when exiting at the end of practice.

Spectators & Family Members
Spectators choosing to stay to watch evaluations or practice will be limited to two family members per player, and all individuals age 2+ must remain masked and in the gym during practice (no unaccompanied non-player children will be permitted in the lobby or common areas).

Guidelines for Game Days
Entering & Exiting
Due to the high volume of players, coaches, families and volunteers entering and exiting the building at the same time, we are requesting that all individuals age 2+ wear a facial covering (mask) that covers their mouth and nose when entering and exiting the building. Alternate entry and exit points may be identified during the game season to reduce crowding.

Players & Coaches
Coaches and players will be permitted to remove their mask once they arrive at the game day introductions location (tunnel) prior to the game; they should wear a mask if leaving the game area during halftime, and/or for any reason, and when exiting at the end of practice.

Spectators & Family Members
Spectators at games will be limited to two adult family members and any siblings per player, and all individuals age 2+ must remain masked before, during, and after the games in all areas of the building.
